QUARRY PRODUCTS

Strong and resistant to weathering, Greywacke rock from Wharehine’s numerous quarries paves thousands of kilometres of roads throughout the North Auckland & Northland Regions every year.

During construction of the high-profile New Zealand Transport Agency’s Northern Gateway Toll Road between Orewa and Puhoi, Wharehine supplied and delivered a staggering 300,000 tonnes of quality roading aggregate and 12,000 tonnes of special asphalt chip.

We were responsible for supplying 180,000 tones of roading aggregate for Auckland Transport on the Matakana Link Road, an incredible feat and collaboration between the Quarry teams and the Construction arm.

We also support local residents and our Aggregate is carted from quarries to their homes.

Another large project we were a part of was the NX2 Puhoi to Warkworth motorway - working alongside the PPP partnership of ACCIONA, Fletcher Building and Waka Kotahi. This project has made a huge impact to the journey into Northland.  Wharehine supplied over 350,000 tonne of aggregate product to the new motorway which included 220,000 tonne of high spec M4/AP40 basecourse aggregate.
